The long-awaited spring by all, in cold and windy these days, seems to have a substantially different timing between the Gregorian calendar and the Chinese calendar.
According to the first fact, the spring begins between 21 and 23 March at the time of the equinox, or when the sun rises exactly east and sets exactly in the west, giving precise 12 hours of light.
According to the Chinese lunar calendar but this year the spring began Jan. 29 and usually falls between January 21 and February 19 to coincide with the first new moon after the entry of the sun in the sign of Aquarius.
Two fundamentally different views, united by the fact that both holidays were related to the concept of fertility and characterized by major celebrations in the West this pagan worship was then replaced by the Catholic feast of the Annunciation and Immaculate Conception.
Beyond this, however, between the dates of the two perspectives, or between March 21 and the Gregorian calendar on January 29 of the Chinese, well 51 days pass, more than seven weeks, a big difference!
This difference is explained by the fact that March 21 of our calendar is the maximum external manifestation of the spring as a fully ripe fruit, while in the Chinese calendar the beginning of spring corresponds to its its germ, meaning the seed of fruit.
We live in the West, it seems wiser to consider our schedule, but it may be worthwhile to accept at least part of the Eastern view.
Firstly, it provides for the existence of a fifth season, a sort of transition not only between summer and autumn, but in all seasons, a kind of "buffer" comprising the last 20 days of each season.
If we are to remain faithful to our calendar, the fifth season will officially begin between 3 and 5 March, while the Chinese is already over.
In my practice of acupuncture as very useful and effective method where the choice of vacation points to treat each channel varies according to season. I must say that it is not always easy to choose the right season, especially in these intermediate steps.
To the Chinese, we are already in the spring, Europeans are still in winter. To quote Dr Tan, you should really see the signs of nature to decide.
These days, despite the cold still very sharp and I have to say now just bearable, I happen to appreciate some changes, light, wind, something in the air. Also observed several people need to change some eating habits during winter, as if the body is asking other flavors.
I am not able to discuss weather, but I would say we are not really in the winter, we are certainly still in the spring, is that perhaps we have already entered in the famous fifth season?
If the calendar was just a middle ground between the East and West? Considering the fruit spring in his first full term as unripe fruit and ripe fruit, and then later as wrinkled?
In this case, the fifth season may have already started for us about ten days or so, this is just a personal observation I'd like to share.
However, this phase should be regarded as very sensitive, characterized by major changes in where it is very important not to tire the body too heavy with food is no accident that the organs connected with this period, stomach, spleen and pancreas.
That's why from a nutritional point of view the board to begin to reduce all the hot media, in particular cheese, meat, wine, desserts and especially chocolate. E 'be useful not only introducing drastic cold foods like salads and citrus fruits, but behaving in a more gradual, starting to encourage fish, cereals, vegetables and much more futta especially apples, maybe an apple day (and not only to remove the doctor away) ...
Finally we do a lot of attention to protect us from the wind, do not fall into the temptation to strip the first rays of sunshine: the body CA storage in very cold 'winter, and still is doing is more sensitive and more exposed to the consequences of violent swings temperature.
Finally, for someone ... good parfrasare fifth season at all.
